2025 PCB Visual AOI Inspection Platform: A Precision Manufacturing Benchmark by Bozhida and Cyber Optics

As chip manufacturing processes advance to 3nm and below, the precision and stability of automatic optical inspection (AOI) equipment have become the lifeblood of yield control. In 2025, Cyber Optics—a global leader in inspection solutions—collaborated with Bozhida, a core equipment base supplier, to jointly develop a next-generation AOI inspection platform. This in-depth R&D partnership leverages Bozhida's innovative combination of high-precision marble platforms and linear motor modules. The solution aims to overcome the physical limitations of traditional mechanical transmission systems, meeting the stringent defect detection requirements of world-class wafer fabs.

During the R&D phase, Bozhida provided a customized artificial granite base tailored to the AOI equipment's extreme sensitivity to micro-vibrations. This material offers exceptional thermal stability and high damping properties, effectively absorbing high-frequency environmental vibrations to deliver a “zero-interference” foundation for optical systems. Combined with Bozhida's proprietary high-response linear motor modules, it eliminates most backlash and friction, achieving nanometer-level smooth motion control. Test data confirms this integrated platform achieves repeatability accuracy of ±0.5μm during high-speed scanning, with maximum acceleration exceeding 2G. Long-term continuous operation maintains temperature drift within 0.1℃. These performance metrics perfectly align with Cyber Optics' high-resolution camera imaging requirements, elevating micro-defect detection rates to over 99.9%.

Intellectual property strategy represents another key highlight of this project. To establish technological barriers, the project has secured multiple core patents, including “An Active Vibration Isolation System Based on Granite Base” and “Real-Time Thermal Error Compensation Method for High-Precision Linear Motors.” These patented technologies not only resolve thermal deformation challenges during high-speed motion but also ensure long-term reliability under 7x24 intensive operation, helping Cyber Optics consolidate its leading position in the high-end electronic assembly inspection market.

As a product R&D solution, this project commenced prototype validation in 2024 and plans to complete mass production integration by Q2 2025. Beyond supplying standard functional components, Bozhida deeply engaged in Cyber Optics' early design phase, optimizing structural rigidity through finite element simulation analysis to achieve a balance between lightweighting and high stiffness. This collaboration marks a significant elevation in the importance of domestically produced precision functional components within the global semiconductor equipment supply chain. Moving forward, both parties will deepen strategic collaboration in electronic inspection, driving the industry toward more precise and intelligent manufacturing. Together, they will define new industry standards for 2026, providing a robust equipment foundation for global chip manufacturing.
